The Sixth House and Survival

Today we are continuing with the horoscope of our Capricorn native born on December 22nd, 1970 at 5:33PM. In order to find out what our participant experienced between the ages of seven through fourteen we have to look at the cusp of the twelfth house. Since Gemini is on the cusp of the twelfth house this means that Mercury will rule the next seven years of our Capricorn's life.

Since Gemini is on the cusp of the twelfth we can say that this period will be about communicating something. Mercury is located in the sixth house. Dobereiner describes the sixth house as the phase of development where a person "adapts to the prevailing circumstances in order to survive". This phrase pretty well describes what work feels like. Work is very much about survival. The majority of people in the world work in order to eat and feed their families so in this context work is very much a survival issue. In this system of interpretation the Sun is how the endowed nature better known as the ascendant will fulfill it's mission. Our participant's Sun is in the sixth house. So it is through mastering the art of survival that our participant will be fulfilled emotionally.

The sixth house also rules health matters. Illness by it's very nature is also a survival issue. So it is possible that our participant was communicating a health related problem at this period of his or her life. Another possible scenario is that that rather than an illness, our participant came out of a emotionally unpredictable childhood and as a result of surviving it became recognized for being an authority on surviving these dramatic ups and downs. The reason I say this is because our participant's Sun is in Capricorn. After all astrologically speaking aren't all Capricorns the ultimate authorities?

Mercury which rules this period is also in a square aspect to Uranus in the fourth house. I have seen Mercury/Uranus aspects cause a suspension of communication. Uranus is also the rebel of the zodiac and I kind of get the feeling that during this time the changes and upheavals that that took place at home were changes that he or she wasn't necessarily prepared for. As I see it, this Capricorn was conditioned from a very early age to expect constant change on the home front and as a result will always feel the need for unpredictability and excitement in order to avoid boredom.

More on Monday!
