Moon Approaching Neptune = Tide of Oil

While everybody was hitting the off button on their alarm clocks this morning the Moon in Aquarius was approaching a tight conjunction to the planet Neptune. For newcomers to astrology this aspect would be the equivalent of a friendly group women getting together for a day at the beach and I don't doubt that there were plenty of seashore loving women enjoying or contemplating walks on the sand today in many parts of the world. The source of my description comes from the fact that Aquarius rules groups and societies and Neptune rules the ocean. Can you see how the aspect conjures up pleasant outdoorsy images? But unfortunately in astrology as in life there are always a multitude of scenarios in the universe just chomping at the bit waiting to manifest themselves.

For example, given the fact that astrology is an observational science and people like myself can't help but notice that the Moon also rules the tides and Neptune also rules oil and given big business's need to place profit over respect for planet earth it's really not surprising that the world is riveted on the incoming tides in the gulf to see how much damage the horrific spill will wreak.

The only good thing I can see coming out of this is that Pluto is in Capricorn, the sign that rules corporations. Pluto's job is to expose the underbelly of things and that includes underworld elements that are destructive and evil. Pluto in Capricorn helps to exterminate the dirty dealing power brokers. I'm sure we will hear more nasty business about what has gone on behind the scenes to have made this latest crime against nature and man by corporations possible
